So if you haven’t heard yet, you’re going to hear all about the recent security vulnerability discovered inside some apps on the Apple App Store. The short story is that some developers in China downloaded a fake version of Apple’s development software, and that buried inside that fake version is a tool that allows hackers to steal your Apple ID and Password.
The website BGR has an article that lists over 85 apps that have the vulnerability.
The Apple software is called Xcode, and the vulnerability has already picked up a catchy name: Xcode Ghost. The reason why is that the hack allows thieves to request you sign in to your Apple ID account, an action that people with iPhones, iPads and Macintosh computers get asked to do frequently, but instead of signing in you are just sending your information out into the great beyond.

Steps to Change Your Apple ID Password
- Point your web browser to appleid.apple.com.
- Enter your current Apple user name and password.
- Click Password and Security on the left side.
- Enter the answers to your security question and click Continue.
- Click Change Password.
- Enter your old password and then enter your new password twice.
- Click the Change Password button.
After changing your password, remember you will have to log in on all of your devices using the new password.
